Local 2803 regrets to announce the line of duty death of Brother Joe Newsome, 23 April 2007.   Please keep the Newsome family in your thoughts and prayers.

NEWSOME Captain Joseph E. Newsome, Chesterfield Fire and E.M.S., 42, of Midlothian, entered eternity on April 23, 2007. Survivors include his beloved wife, Laurie Dixon Newsome; two precious sons, Robert Joseph and Thomas James Newsome; his mother, Julia May Brock Newsome; two brothers, Wayne Newsome and his wife, Judy of Dinwiddie, and William Newsome and his wife, Cindy of Colonial Heights; and two sisters, Janet Newsome of Chesterfield, and Judyth Ann Conklin and her husband, Joseph of Colonial Heights. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday at Crestwood Presbyterian Church West Campus, 1200 Charter Colony Parkway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Joe Newsome Memorial Fund, Attn: CARES, P.O. Box 40, Chesterfield, Virginia 23832.
